emo-tags

I was chatting with my brother the other nite about blogging.

He was lamenting the apparent inability of alpha numeric text to express a snide "mnyaeh" (think melodramatic moustache twirling meets james cagney impersonator).

An emoticon wasn't really going to get it across.

Then, like a bolt from the blue (not really), we came up with an idea we dubbed "emo-tags".

An opening and closing tag ought to do it; just like html/xml entities.

Hence: <snide>mnyaeh</snide>

Emo-tags!

  2. I think we need more of this as we head further into asynchronous communication. We need to be able express what would otherwise be seen in face-to-face communications.
